Our Practice & Services

Firm Overview: Berry Appleman & Leiden is a leading corporate immigration law firm serving US and global companies around the world. Since 1980, our law firm has delivered consistently excellent service across our legal teams. We offer specialized service on difficult cases and assist Human Resources with program and policy management. Clients rely on our optimum combination of effective legal services and reliable IT tools to manage US and global immigration matters, corporate immigration programs and policies.

Our clients include information technology, media, scientific, Internet, engineering, research, industrial, manufacturing, financial and medical institutions of all sizes in cases involving international personnel and visa matters. Whether your company has two or 2,000 immigration cases a year, our legal teams deliver exceptional legal services with a commitment to superior client service.

Domestic U.S. Visa Services: US Visa Services comprise the core work of Berry Appleman & Leiden. Our attorneys and legal assistants leverage their extensive experience handling every type of nonimmigrant visa and all approaches to lawful permanent residence status. We employ a systematic approach to ensure uniformity, compliance with agency requirements, cost-effectiveness and peace of mind for the employers and employees.

Global Visa Services: Our Global Visa Group assists with the international movement of personnel to countries outside of the United States. Experienced attorneys and legal staff assist employees in acquiring appropriate global visas wherever employees work or do business. We advise your immigration administrators on what to expect in foreign visa processing. GlobalChek®, a web-accessible tool, enables HR and employees to quickly determine initial visa requirements.

Corporate Immigration Management System: CIMS, our enterprise database system, provides interactive visa communication tools that promote direct contact between our firm, HR and the employee. HR professionals can start new cases, update employee and company-related information and see online reports regarding the status of employees throughout the immigration process. CIMS enables HR professionals, managers and employees to check the status of immigration projects and nonimmigrant status. It also allows them to quickly determine initial visa requirements.

Client Services: Our Client Services Group works closely with Human Resources and Legal departments to provide outsourcing of immigration program management along with policy development. We also provide on-site compliance audits and training. We can also assist with the administration of your immigration program by providing consulting professionals to oversee and process day-to-day operations.

Government Relations: Our firm's partners are nationally renowned among Congressional and federal agency leaders engaged in immigration law making and regulatory policy. Our office located in the Washington D.C. area allows us to work closely with Government Relations, Human Resources and Legal Departments to analyze, respond to, and propose new solutions to legislative initiatives and regulatory developments.

Communications: We write analyses of the latest laws and inform you via email of important changes and developments in our Business Immigration Update. More urgent policy updates are broadcast immediately in our Client Alert. Both publications are also posted on our website at www.usabal.com. We provide bi-monthly educational Breakfast Briefings covering topics of interest to HR professionals.
