CHINA - New Visa Regulations in Shenzhen

August 4, 2008 - The Shenzhen region in China has implemented new visa regulations effective 1 August 2008. The Labor Bureau is now requesting two new documents for any new assignee applying for an employment license, which is part of the work and residence permits visa application.

New Documents Required:

  • A non-criminal record, which should be applied in the home country and authenticated by the Chinese Consulate in the home country.
  • A report produced by a local head hunting company [in China], stipulating that the company has done thorough search for two months (advertisement, etc.) and has not found the right candidate for the applied position in China, thus requiring the hiring of a foreign candidate.
