China Implements New Visa Requirements

April 21, 2008 - The Chinese government has implemented new visa requirements for F business visas. Applicants must now obtain a visa notification from an authorized Chinese authority prior to making an application. In addition, applicants must show proof of round trip airfare and hotel accommodation. Some applicants may be asked to present themselves at the consular office for a personal interview prior to visa approval.

Foreign nationals who are not U.S. citizens applying through the Chinese consulate must show proof of legal status in the United States accompanied by copies of previous Chinese visas obtained through foreign consulates. Chinese consular regulations may continue to change in the months to come as China prepares for the Olympic games
