USCIS Announces Online Address Change Reporting Service

January 12, 2007 - The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service announced today that individuals who are currently required to report address changes using Form AR-11 may now do so online through the USCIS website. According to the USCIS, users should have the following information available when submitting the online address change:

· USCIS receipt number (if you have a pending case with USCIS);
· New and old addresses;
· Names and biographical information for family members for whom you have filed a petition; and
· Date and location (port of entry) of your last entry into the United States.

USCIS PRESS RELEASE

The USCIS address change information page is: http://www.uscis.gov/AR-11

The actual USCIS Online address change website is: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

BAL Comment: This is a welcome new service that should provide a convenient alternative for complying with USCIS address change reporting requirements. When using this service it is best to print the completed online form and keep the record as proof of compliance. Please note that the online service is for AR-11 reporting purposes; clients with applications pending at a USCIS service center should also continue to report address changes to their BAL legal teams so that the change of address can be reported to USCIS service centers through existing channels.
