September 27, 2002 - The Immigration and Naturalization
Service ("INS") rolled out its new Case Status Online
feature this month. Case Status Online allows INS customers
with applications pending at any of the four INS Service Centers
(California, Nebraska, Vermont and Texas) to type in the INS
receipt number and obtain the latest case status. The URL
for Case Status Online is:
https://egov.uscis.gov/graphics/cris/jsps/caseStat.jsp
A link to INS Case Status Online has been added to StatusChek,
Berry, Appleman & Leiden's proprietary case tracking system.
Berry, Appleman & Leiden StatusChek enabled clients
now have around-the-clock web-based access to case status
at all stages of the process, including INS processing. StatusChek
enabled clients will find the link to INS Case Status Online
on their projects detail screen if an INS project is pending.
Clients can cut and paste the INS 13 character INS receipt
numbers directly from StatusChek into INS Case Status
Online. Dashes ("-") should be omitted when entering
a receipt number. All other characters, including asterisks
("*"), can be included if listed as part of the
receipt number.
INS has also posted an extensive FAQ regarding Case Status
Online at the following URL:
