January 31, 2012 - Both retroactive and newly submitted labour office registrations (reported here last week) for non-EU work permit holders have begun in Prague. All additional labour offices are expected to begin implementing these new procedures in the coming weeks to facilitate their completion by the April 4 deadline.
Though the requirement for legalized diplomas to receive nostrification is legally in effect, BAL’s network partner has indicated that some labour offices have erroneously accepted legalized diplomas without nostrification. To address this situation, the Ministry of Labour will be posting detailed information on its website, and will be ensuring that all labour offices in the Czech Republic are complying with the nostrification requirements in the near future. As an additional clarification, the Ministry has informed BAL’s network partner that the nostrification requirements apply to both foreign employees who are hired locally (thus, transferred onto Czech payroll) as well as employees who remain on foreign payroll.
